Description

Supporting Young Hearts health professionals forum – Under 40 and living with a heart condition: challenges, opportunities and support needs.

The Heart Foundation is running a free forum for health professional who work with young people who are living with a heart condition, or recovering from heart surgery. This special event will explore the particular issues and concerns that affect this group at such a critical life stage and showcase initiatives developed by Heart Foundation and others to help young people better manage their physical and emotional health.

Featured speakers include:

  • Dr Angeline Leet, cardiologist – Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Clinic, The Young Heart Transplant Clinic – Alfred Hospital Melbourne
  • Associate Professor Dr Rosemary Higgins, cardiac health psychologist – The University of Melbourne, Deakin University, Australian Centre for Heart Health
  • Belinda Macdonald – young heart patient
  • Launch of new young hearts digital stories
